Fire cupping and Gua Sha are time-honoured ways of releasing tension along the back, neck and shoulders. Both are performed by a licensed therapist at Relax Massage Spa #2 and are often paired with a soothing back massage.
What to expect
Fire cupping uses warm glass cups placed on the back and shoulders. A gentle suction lifts the skin and the tissue beneath, releasing tight muscle. It often feels like a deep, steady pull.
Gua Sha uses a smooth stone tool glided over oiled skin along the back, neck or shoulders. The repeated, gentle strokes release tension and can be deeply settling.

Both techniques can leave marks — round marks from cupping, and light pink marks from Gua Sha. They are a normal part of the treatment and fade within a few days. Please mention beforehand if you would prefer to avoid visible marks, and tell us if you are on blood-thinning medication or are pregnant.

Common questions
Will cupping leave marks?
It can leave round marks that look like bruises. They are not painful and usually fade within a few days. Tell us if you would like to keep marks to a minimum.
Does Gua Sha hurt?
No. The pressure is gentle and controlled, and your therapist will adjust it to what feels right for you.
Can I have cupping and Gua Sha together?
Yes, many guests pair them, or pair one with a back massage. Call and we will help you build the right session.
Is it safe?
For most people, yes. Please mention beforehand if you are pregnant, on blood-thinning medication, or have any skin condition in the area.
